Wilderness

I'm going to tell you a story of my friend who this Lent is intentionally going into the desert to find who he really is. To die a death to discover who he is and emerge new. I've not met anyone who purposefully goes headlong deep into the desert. We usually are thrust into the wilderness. I said to my friend today,

" I cannot wait to see you when you come out."

We should all imitate this great desire to want to know who we are - to enter willingly into the desert with Jesus these 40 days, knowing that struggle will come, knowing we will wrestle with ourselves and and with our God. It's never too late to satisfy that desire in each one of us to go from death to life. Thank you my friend for preaching not only in words but also through your example.
