Imagining St. Joseph in all of God's Glory and realizing that as he was with Mary and Jesus on their time on earth, he too is with us during our time on earth.
Pondering even further, he has been with us since the beginning, since our birth. The day we were Baptized, he came and was there to witness to the adoption. Our adoption by God our Heavenly Father. He became our God Father - well, we may not have ever known our God parents, maybe only their names.
Silently, he has walked with us, held our hands - saw our tears. He came to all our Sacraments because it was important to him to be there for us. He waited while we made our First Reconciliation and he knew we were scared - we were scared and he was there praying for us. He came to our First Holy Communion and how happy he was to see us receive his Son for the first time.
He was there when we were anointed at our Confirmation as the Holy Spirit came upon us. When Joseph is there, you can bet that Mary was too! He became our sponsor when our earthly sponsor may not have been there for us. St. Joseph has filled the void inside of us, being our Spiritual Father on earth.
St Joseph has been that earthly friend who understands us and is silently there for us when we feel alone.
Dear St. Joseph, we now realize the good you have done for us in our lives here on earth. At our Wedding - you walked with us and our Dad. You on one side and our Dad on the other. How happy you were to help us find this husband or wife, who possesses your faithfulness and love. And through these last spiritual years - you our spiritual earthly Father - how we love you and cherish you now and always. How grateful we are to see you in all your glory and to see all the good you do.
If only everyone knew that you have been there since the beginning (since our birth) for each one of us just like you were for Mary and Jesus, to love and protect us. I pray the Church raises you up high that all will know you the true St. Joseph - the true Spiritual Father for all families. Thank you St. Joseph!
