Today is January 1, 2024 which is the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God.
A New Year, a few resolutions, some choose the 90 days of Exodus/Magnify. Thoughts of what resolutions to make, goals set for this new year, how is my relationship with God, relationships with my family and how are my friendships? Lots of thoughts to reflect on.
As the homily this morning suggested, Mary pondered these things in heart. She pondered and reflected on what Simeon said as she brought her infant Jesus to the Temple. She pondered, she reflected on what Gods plan was, what God was asking and what is God's Will. We should be pondering and reflecting in our hearts what has brought us thus far in our faith, in our relationship with God, with Jesus, with Mary, with family, with friends. What are we grateful for? Who has helped us on our journey? When have I encountered Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Mary, God our Father? What is God's Will for me?
Just a thought, if our relationship with God is good, that would mirror our relationship with others. If it's lacking, thus is our earthly relationships lacking.
What makes relationships good or lacking? LOVE, the master key! Love God, Love they Neighbor. How well do we love? Let Love rule over you this New Year. Which means let God rule over you this year. Let him love others through you. Be the star of the New Year and lead others to Christ. What is God's Will....love!
